A Random Ashlar stone veneer entrance marker located at the corner of 119th and State Line Road. The stone used is called "Classic Buff" from Sturgis Stone Yard in Kansas City, KS. When laying the Ashlar pattern you want to strive to break the vertical and horizontal mortar joints as often as possible. Notice the horizontal joints do not continue from corner to corner and the vertical mortar joints are 12 inches or less in most locations. All stones should be laid in a horizontal fashion and large stones should never be laid vertically.
