This fireplace was built as a temporary display during the winter months as the project was indoors. Most people do not get past the spiral twisting chimney to notice the hearth which is by far the most difficult part of the fireplace. Each brick is cut and shaped perfectly for each gauged brick radius. A single basket weave ribbon runs through the center of the hearth. The center piece is a brick mural and was donated for the display by Endicott Brick Company in Endicott, Nebraska. The artisan who sculpted the brick mural was Germer.
